Tiya Posted April 11, 2013 Report Posted April 11, 2013 I have a question related to Port of Entry. My current visa expires on 31 May, 2013. This is the visa which I had “stamped” at the US Consulate in India. We have already filed for an extension and the new visa has been approved. The new visa is not “stamped” yet. I am planning a one-week trip to Germany in early to mid May 2013. Though I will be entering the US on valid and unexpired visa, the time left on that visa is very short – less than two weeks. Will I face any problems at the Port of Entry because I have little time left on the old visa and my new visa has not been stamped yet? Do you see a solution to this situation?
Guy_H1B Posted April 11, 2013 Report Posted April 11, 2013 I think you should be just fine. I was in the same situation and I got back into US without any issues last year. Carry your approved new I-797 and show your new I-797 to the officer at POE.
cobra1232 Posted April 12, 2013 Report Posted April 12, 2013 You should be fine as far as the Date of reentry into US is before 31st May 2013.
