Green card quota updates

Where can I see the green card quota?

If I am not wrong, every year there is a fixed number of quota for green cards too (just like H1B)

When does the quota open(Oct 1 of every year? ) and is there any page which shows current quota for each year

Can my employer still file my GC or I need to wait till Oct 1,2013

your employer can file for your GC anytime..

A GC is a lengthy process, consisting of multiple steps. There is no simple "file a GC" step.

I suggest you and your employer discuss your situation with a good immigration lawyer.
