akshay7 Posted April 2, 2013 Report Posted April 2, 2013 Hello All! Yesterday I was just seeing my passport as it is about to expire. I noticed that back in 2009 I got my H-1B visa stamped from New Delhi Embassy but in visa stamp they put my whole name (First name and Surname)in 'Surname' and first name as 'FNU'. I noticed this yesterday only. After getting visa stamped I traveled to USA and came to home country after resigning from job. Since August 2009, I am working in my home country and not traveled to USA on any visa. My question : Is it going to affect if I come to USA in future on H-1B or F-1 visa. I finished MS in Industrial Engineering and got H-1B in October 2008. Also got it stamped from embassy and traveled to USA and came back. Thanks for your valuable suggestions and time. Regards.
omshiv Posted April 2, 2013 Report Posted April 2, 2013 when it didnt create a problem at the first time, why do you think it might create now, since you have noticed. Regardless, have the changes corrected in your new passport.
pontevecchio Posted April 2, 2013 Report Posted April 2, 2013 No. Make sure your Indian Passport has a First name and last name for you.
