txresearcher Posted March 29, 2013 Report Posted March 29, 2013 Is US license and insurance enough to drive in Canada? When going for stamping, do I submit all my I94s to the Candian immigration agents? Do US GPS systems work over there?

Do US GPS systems work over there? Insurance- ask your insurance provider whether your plan is valid in Canada GPS- check the model and google it whether it works in Canada or not. Usually ,most of them will work I94- you need to submit your latest 94 at POD.
Calvinz Posted March 29, 2013 Report Posted March 29, 2013 txresearcher, we came driving to canada by rental car (didnt wanna put miles on my own :) ) telling u this bcz car rental ppl won't even ask if u driving to canada even if we told him we would be driving to canada he said we r not asking about that anymore. US license yeah works. I94 wont be taken by canadian immigration tats a tracker for US immigration so either they will take it when they issue ur visa or u i thnk u need to submit at border before entering US. yeah my GPS worked but u need to chk on ur home screen where u can choose country.. my friends GPS didnt work under same brand.
pontevecchio Posted March 29, 2013 Report Posted March 29, 2013 It would be an act of incredible folly not to inform the Rental company. A free Carnet from AAA covers you. Your insurance company is able to extend your coverage to Canada if asked. If you do not get insurance cover for Canada you are so shaft*d if you are involved in any accident however minor. I94's are not the business of Canada and when driving your first point of contact is a Canadian Immigration Officer. If your GPS covers North America it will cover Canada.
txresearcher Posted March 29, 2013 Author Report Posted March 29, 2013 Thanks guys. Very helpful information.
