Query on H1b 1 year cool off rules

Hi Members,

I am new member to this forum and listened a lot about this forum. i have a question on the h1b cool-off period. i thought that this forum might be a good place for my question as we have many experienced members here.

Here is my query:

How the cool- off period works if a person is outside the USA for an year within the 6 years limit.

Does the 6 years time reset on the same H1b?

Here is my presence on the current H1

Nov 2008- Oct 2009 (in USA)

Nov 2009- Dec 2009 - (outside USA)

Jan 2010- Oct 2010 (in USA)

Nov 2010- Jan 2012 (outside USA)

Feb 2012- till date

So, Am i eligible for the new 6 years from Feb 2012? or i have to be on a new h1b to be eligible for new set of 6 years.

What is this h1b cool-off period? Could you explain or refer any link?

You should go thru the annual cap again to get fresh 6 year term.
