Is Visa Stamping Required for Changing employer with valid stamping??

Hi

I have a valid H1 B Visa stamping till 2015 and I am planning to change my employer in the next two months. I am also travelling to India for a short vacation during this period.

I would like to know if I should change my employer before travelling and come back without getting stamping since I have valid stampiing already or I should get a stamping again.

You need the new H1 petition approval and are able to use the existing visa.

You don't need new visa stamp if it is still valid. You need valid 797 from your new employer.

I would travel with a valid I-797 so either do the trip before the new employment starts or do it afterwards. You don't need the stamp as your existing stamp will work. Just need new I-797/Employer letter and you should be good to go during Port of entry.

Better to get the new 797 before leaving or your new employer can send it via post to u in India.

The new 797 with this existing visa is all you would need to re-enter.
