raju7jagan Posted March 28, 2013 Report Posted March 28, 2013 Hi, My opt extension is going to end on June 3rd I am filing h1b extension on may ( had h1b earlier in 2008) I am not doing premium. Am I eligible to work after June 3rd if the h1b application is recieved by uscis or do I need to wait till it h1b gets approved?
wiweq Posted March 28, 2013 Report Posted March 28, 2013 This is no F1 to h1b extension. It would H1b with COS. If it's not your first H1b, you don't need to wait for Oct 1st and would be able to work just after approval. You can't start working on receipt.

Please confirm. if this isn't the case , how could I maintain the status until h1b gets approved with opt expired. Is there any grace period that I could rely on?
