Hello All,

First of all, a million thanks to all the people who have shared their Visa Experiences (Positive and Negative) in this Forum. All those posts helped me a lot in my preparation for the Interview and to prepare the documents needed for the interview. I also got to meet some amazing people during this journey: Satish, Vikram, Varun and Rahul. Thank you all.

My interview was 2 weeks ago on March 6th at counter no# 5.

Following are the Questions:

1) Since how long have you been working for Company X??

Ans: Around 3 years

2) Whom did you work for since 200*

Ans: Company Y (my previous employer)

3) What is your designation?

4) Where is your work location?

5) What is your salary?

VO said my Visa has been approved and gave me the form which had the details about PP collection. I received my PP on Mar 11th at the Loomis center near vancover airport.

Following are some of the things that i didnt know before i went to the interview and think will be use ful for future attendees:

1) NO bags\back packs allowed: I had all my documents (3 files more than 10 pounds in weight) stuffed into a backpack. I had to leave the bag at a convenience store opposite the embassy (for a 5$ charge) and carry the files by hand. So my recommendation is to carry all the documents in a big plastic carry bag, instead of a bag or a back pack.

2) Photo booth available within the consulate: There is a photo machine within the consulate that charges 10$ for 6 photos.

3) Travel from vancover Airport to Downtown: The Sky Train terminal is right opposite the AIrport and only takes about 20 minutes to get into down town. This option is much faster and economical than taking a cab. There are 3 stations in downtown. So call up your hotel and find out the stop nearest to the hotel.

4) Going late to the Appointment!!: This is the most important one that i wanted everyone to know. I missed a connecting flight in Chicago because my incoming flight got delayed because of a snow storm. I had to travel non-stop for 20 hours passing through 5 different airports and landed in Vancover at 10AM on Mar 6th!! I reached my hotel at 11AM and was in the consulate by around 11.40 AM. My actual appointment was at 9.30 AM!!. They let me in without raising any questions. The moral of the story is to be in Vancover atleast one day before the interview!!! Even if you get delayed for some reason (obviosuly which is not under your control) you can still attend the interview. I think they will let people in until atleast 1PM. I am not sure after that.

5) Indian Consulate in Vancouver: This is something i heard from another friend. There is an indian consulate very near to the US consulate and if any issues arise related to the passport, they can be addressed here.

Best of Luck to all the future attendees!!!

Thx!
