hbk_952 Posted March 20, 2013 Report Posted March 20, 2013 Hi, My client is mentioning end date as april 30th on my letter. will that be a reason for h1 rejection. Let me know ur thoughts. ur help is appreciated. thanks, Harry
shandan Posted March 20, 2013 Report Posted March 20, 2013 That doesn't make sense, how can someone apply for H1 which is slated to start by Oct 1st have an end date of Apr 30th (in the past)? Certainly not enough details in your question.
omshiv Posted March 20, 2013 Report Posted March 20, 2013 to OP..you definitely need to give in more details...is this a regular first time h1 stamping or based on an extension. regardless you'll need to find another client which has a longer duration.
wiweq Posted March 20, 2013 Report Posted March 20, 2013 Is this brand new H1b or extension (transfer)?
hbk_952 Posted March 21, 2013 Author Report Posted March 21, 2013 It is the first time h1b application.
rahul412 Posted March 22, 2013 Report Posted March 22, 2013 It is the first time h1b application. If this is first time, its clear that your petition might be rejected since you doesn't have job after April.
omshiv Posted March 22, 2013 Report Posted March 22, 2013 It is the first time h1b application. somethings wrong here...i definitely sense some shady activity.. if this is a first time H1B...then you would not be able to work before Oct 1st...how could any Client give you a date till April 30th?

Bcos OP is working for that client currently under OPT. Nothing shady.
hbk_952 Posted March 22, 2013 Author Report Posted March 22, 2013 What if i have a client letter without mentioning my start and end dates. Will that work fine. @omshiv: This client is cutting contractors down. i will be able to work if i get another job which i'm working on it. Client gives end date depending on their project budget and their needs. Thanks for your replies.
rahul412 Posted March 23, 2013 Report Posted March 23, 2013 What if i have a client letter without mentioning my start and end dates. Will that work fine. That might work. But what during the processing if USCIS makes a client visit and you are no more with that client, then what will you do??
hbk_952 Posted March 25, 2013 Author Report Posted March 25, 2013 @rahul: i should do premium processing and mostly the uscis rarely makes a client visit or checks with client.. it all depends on ur luck.. hopefully before my contract ends here i should get my visa approved.

USCIS is not accepting PP for H1 for a period of April 1-14. In any way, it's completely risk taking. Yes it depends on luck now.
wiweq Posted March 25, 2013 Report Posted March 25, 2013 What if i have a client letter without mentioning my start and end dates. Will that work fine. Client letter without start date and end date has no meaning. That is useless for H1b standpoint. USCIS needs start date and end date to make the similar expiry for I94. In any case, you dont't need to worry. H1b is employer's petition, they pay for it and they know well how to file it.
