120 days of Unemployment in OPT STEM

Hello Friends,

I am on F1 STEM OPT which expires in June 2013. I was working with company A who dint sponsor my H1, so I found a job with company B that agreed to file and sponsor my H1B. But company B would not allow me to start until they get the approval notice. Basically right now I am unemployed and I will use my maximum number of unemployment days (120 days) by April 4, after which I should exit the US.

Please advice me on this regard. What can I do to maintain my status? Can I work for a different employer to maintain my status when company B is filing my H1B?

You can work for a company by Volunteering. Where the employer no need to pay. You can update the school DOS with employer B under Volunteer.

For OPT STEM extension, the employer needs to be e-verified.
