tunic
Hi, I work part - time (30 hours a week ) and remotely for a US based company. I hold a B1B2 visa. I would like to go to the US now to visit family for about 3 months. 1) Can I continue to work remotely while I am in the US 2) Can I during this visit, meet my employer/ client (not working on-site, only meeting to put a face to the client, and company is not sponsoring this trip, I am going to visit family) Thanks! Attorney_25
Working while in the US on a B-1/B-2 is not permitted. Visiting family and meeting a client, without work, is permitted. Link to comment
JoeF
Meeting a client for a non-US company is permitted on B1/B2. Meeting a client for a US-based company would be work for the US-based company, and that's not allowed. Link to comment
tunic
Thank you Attorney_25. This essentially means I can go on vacation to US only to the extent of annual vacation of 10 days or so. I am only continuing the work I was already doing in India, so I am wondering if there might be a exception or a way to work around this situation. Would appreciate any advice. Thanks you.
