I have the H1 approval with me however my passport is not stamped. I wanted to check if I can change my employer without having the H1 stamp in my passport or it is a must that i need to do the stamping before changing my employer. Appreciate if anyone can help.

No you don't need visa stamp for H1 transfer. visa stamp is used only as an entry document into US.
