sherogi Posted February 25, 2013 Report Posted February 25, 2013 Dear All, My 6 yr H1 expires on Feb 27 2013. My I-140 is approved. My lawyer has started the process of H1 extension. The USCIS has approved my LCA. The lawyer said that they had sent the H1 extension to USCIS on Feb 12 and reaching them on Feb 14. In the mean while, my employer terminated their contract with the immigration lawyers and are going with new one. Can I stay in US, post Feb 27? How do I determine if USCIS has received my application? The old lawyers are not answering any of our questions. Please advise Yogi
t75 Posted February 25, 2013 Report Posted February 25, 2013 The attorney has nothing to do with the validity of the petition. The new attorneys should have obtained your file.
sherogi Posted February 25, 2013 Author Report Posted February 25, 2013 thanks guys. My employer also called the USCIS today morning and they replied that, I do not have to leave the country because My I-140 is approved, but I cannot work till the USCIS generates the receipt for my application.
