rahuld Posted February 21, 2013 Report Posted February 21, 2013 I was put out of status in late 2011 by the DSO of my school due to unauthorized employment . I interned in a startup company but since the work load was high and my manager was on a site visit , to balance the load , I had to work a few more days after the end of my CPT . It was my fault as I did not make myself well aware about the rules . To get back in status , I re-entered US. I have graduated now and scored a full - time job . My employer is willing to file my H1B visa this year . I would like to know how my previous out - of - status issue would affect me during this visa process and also while filing for GC eventually .
t75 Posted February 22, 2013 Report Posted February 22, 2013 You claim you "had to work"; no, you chose to work because you thought it would benefit you in the future. Any violation of immigration regulations may affect future filings. Illegal work can be a major issue. Consult an attorney for a review if you don't want to just risk it.
