Applying for a new J1 Visa in Canada(Toronto)

Hi,

I am hoping some one will be able to help me.

I am studying in Baltimore as an exchange student from Ireland. For this I am currently on a J1 visa which is sponsored by the college in Baltimore.

I am hoping to stay in the US for the summer under the J1 summer work/travel visa, without having to go to the expense of flying home to Ireland etc. From the research I have done I think it is possible but I was hoping someone could confirm.

As soon as I finish my exams I was planning on going to Toronto to re-apply for a new visa as I have found a company that will sponsor me for the summer months.

So my three questions are:

1. Can I still apply for a new J1 visa considering my first visa (study) is still valid?

2. How difficult is the interview considering Canda is not my home country?

3. Is there anything I should know before I go through the process
