L2 to H1 COS,would EAD be valid until COS effective date

Hi

Appreciate your responses for the below query.

Currently I am on L2 visa and have a EAD until 2014.

If my current employer applies on April 1st 2013 for L2 to H1 CoS from 1st October 2013 and if the petition gets approved in 2 months on 1st June 2013.

Will I be able to work under L2 EAD from 1st June until 1st October.

Generally, a status change is ineffective until the date validity starts. In the interim, the individual does and must maintain their previous status and work authorization f applicable.

Yes you can continue working on L2 EAD until your h1b gets approved.

You can work on L2 EAD until the start date in the H1 approval notice.
