h1b extension and change of employer

My H1B visa expires this June (I797,I94 valid until 2015)

When should i start applying for extension?

I'm plannin to change employer is it advisable to get visa extension done and then change employer or change employer and ask my new employer to file extension

=> When you change the employer on H1b, it’s always extension of the status, there is nothing called H1b transfer.

You can find the new employer at any time. All H1bs are independent and doesn’t affect each other.
