Hank_82 Posted February 12, 2013 Report Posted February 12, 2013 I realized that, we cannot book the appointment nor we can see the availability of the appointment dates at Vancouver (or any other) consulate, without submitting the DS-160 form (i.e. without having confirmation number). I need to plan certain things based on when interview dates are available, before filing DS-160 form (as DS-160 forms are available online, only for 30 days), so wondering, if anyone recently booked interview dates at Vancouver consulate, can you please share, right now, what is the availability like? i.e. how long in the future, do you the dates are available or not available, until what date? Thanks,
Jaguar09 Posted February 12, 2013 Report Posted February 12, 2013 Hi, First start with the DS-160 form. Select the country where you would be going for the stamping. Click on start application. You dont have to really start and end the application here, but atleast try filling out the first page and saving it so that you would get an Alpha-Numeric coide, that is required in Scheduling the appointment in the next step. Finish the first page, save it and you can come back to this link any times u want and fill the information in truth and in completeness. Everytime you save the form online, you can come back within 30 days to make changes and save it in their database, Then you can visit the appointment booking site and reference that alpha numeric number here and you can see the dates only after paying $190 fee I see dates in March 1,6,7,8,13,15,1922,27,28.... April also mostly all dates All d Best
raja922 Posted February 12, 2013 Report Posted February 12, 2013 Hey man, do one thing. just fill first page of DS160 and save it and use that number to book the date. you dont need to fill all the information. got it? presently many dates available in March and April. so dont worry. but donot delay.
Hank_82 Posted February 12, 2013 Author Report Posted February 12, 2013 Thanks Jaguar09 and raja922. When I go to consulate of US website to schedule the appointment, it asked me first to create an account. I did that, and gave all basic information. I got to the point, where it was asking me DS-160 confirmation number. My understanding is that, you get DS-160 confirmation number, only after submitting it, not before that. I already started filling out DS-160 (but not yet submitted), so I do see, what you guys are saying about alpha-numeric code, but that alpha-numeric code is Application number. Application number and confirmation number are 2 different thing from what I know. Since the appointment scheduling website (consulate of US website) is specifically asking for confirmation number (and not the application number), I am in the notion that, we could only schedule appointment, after submitting DS-160 form.
sai121212 Posted February 12, 2013 Report Posted February 12, 2013 Everytime you save the form online, you can come back within 30 days to make changes and save it in their database, All d Best I also observed that ds160 form never expired for me. I am able to retrieve based on applicant ID. I have an interview appointment next week and submitted the ds160 today itself.
Koundinya17 Posted February 12, 2013 Report Posted February 12, 2013 I don understand why you were getting stuck at DS-160 since it is prety simple as Jaguar09 and raja922 said. anyhow FYI, Vancouver - May 15th is d earliest Toronto - Feb is available
