Applied for L1B extension which is in 'Initial Review' status and I94 also expired.

Hi

I have Applied for L1B extension which is in 'Initial Review' status and I94 also expired.

My extension request is submitted to USCIS and is currently 'Initial Review' status.

My wife who went out of US for her delivery before my Visa expiry is not able to come back because of the visa status which is pending with USCIS.

In case of emergency if I want to go back to my home country and wait there for my case decision , how can I travel ? What can I show to the Airlines guys as my I94 expired already ?

In case if I wish to stay until the decision comes out , how can I bring my wife to US ?

Even though i'm not attorney but i have good idea of this situation. I'm answering with best of knowledge.

1) your employer filed extension before your VISA and i-94 expires , so there is no problem until USCIS takes a decision.

2) if you leave US for some reason , you can't come back until you recieve your L1 papers and get stamped on extension.
