GC outside US and wants to come back

All,

I was on an EAD. I went out of US on an AP and it got expired. I didnt get the EAD and the AP renewed. Now I got my GC in September 2012 and was outside US. I got the GC fedex'ed to me. I want to come to US now as I have a valid GC. It hasnt been 6 months since I have received the GC.

WHat are my options of coming to US on the GC? Do I need anything special(documents) besides the GC to re-enter?

Genuine advise will be appreciated.

The GC is invalid since you were outside the US without a valid AP.

If you try to enter with the GC, you would commit immigration fraud, which could result in a lifelong ban.
