F1 to H1 Question

I have a complex situation at hand. I graduated with Masters in fall 2011 and started with my PhD in Spring 2012 but I have been working at a firm since summer 2011 on CPT. They want to hire me on H1B this year.

The problem is I have not finished my PhD and I am nowhere near the end. Since filling starts April 1, 2013,

1. is it legal for me to shift from F-1 to H1?

2. Should I inform my ISSSO office about this?

3. Summer semester will get over in August, 2013. Can I stay as F1 till oct, 2013?

4. Can I work on CPT till OCT 1, 2013 and the convert to H1?

If you are working on your PhD, you wouldn't have time to work for some company on CPT.

Working on CPT for more than one year? If this is true, then its simply mind-blowing

After enrolling into PhD did you ever go to school?
