Nagaraju Posted January 18, 2013 Report Posted January 18, 2013 Hi All, I am on H1, my I94 was not collected by the airlines when I checked in at the airport, I did not realize it until I got into the plane. I am not sure on what to do, as there is a mixed response on this when I googled about it, some says we need to send the boarding pass and an explanation letter to an address and some says airlines usually updates it online and need not to worry about it. Could some one please help me with this. Thanks Raju
catx Posted January 18, 2013 Report Posted January 18, 2013 For what its worth, my family and I have never turned in any of our I-94 cards when we left the U.S. (on many occasions over the years), and not had any issues upon our return. (Sometimes when returning to the U.S. they look at our passports and wave us through, and sometimes they remove the I-94 card and put in a new one with the same information.) Please note some caveats to my post: (a) this is my family's and my experience, and thus yours may be different, (b) this is not a legal, authoritative statement of the law, and © our nationality is not India
pontevecchio Posted January 18, 2013 Report Posted January 18, 2013 The latest position is that in view of Airline manifests, you need not and should not do anything if you have not handed in your I94 while leaving. I fail to see why you are using GOOGLE in this case instead of any US Consulate site in India. Look for non immigrant visas and the FAQ's.
