futureeb2 Posted January 16, 2013 Report Posted January 16, 2013 I have been looking into the "attorey-certified" I-140 process. The first thign I've realized is that it no longer truly needs attorney-certification. The second is that it seems to be all but dead. There are a few anecdotal reports, mostly in US consulates in India. My "home" consulate (Bogota) has absolutely no information (either way) on the topic. The Foreign Affairs Manual still includes references to this process, so it seems to at least in theory be alive. Does anyone have any recent practical experience with this? Thanks!
JoeF Posted January 17, 2013 Report Posted January 17, 2013 I think this is pretty much dead, not least because the PD for most people isn't current. AC140 only made sense when the PD was current, and the I-485 took a long time compared with CP. Neither of these is true nowadays. For people who are current, I-485s get approved rather quickly nowadays.
