shaa
Friends, Do my spouse (derivative applicant) need to change attorney representation if I (principal applicant) change the attorney for AC21? I paid all the expenses for my spouse's 485. Is AC21 applicable to derivative appplicant? Is it necessary to change attorney for AC21. I mean, if my current employer's attorney is ready to do AC21 at my expense. As he already knows all my case , do I need change attorney by law.? Thank you. Link to comment
Belle
AC21 is done for the primary only. The derivatives may keep their own attorney(s). Link to comment

Shurap1
Thanks Belle, How about primary applicant ? Does he also need to change attroenry if he is leaving the employer? Yes it is advised to change the attorney as all the communication (RFEs, approvals etc.) in regards to your cases (if noted on G-28) will go to your old company's lawyer. Link to comment
Belle
You don't have to change any attorneys. It is your decision - just talk to the attorney about continuing representation, and if you two come to an agreement, you are fine to keep the same attorney. Link to comment
