canada_gal Posted January 13, 2013 Report Posted January 13, 2013 I am really hoping to get some clarification on this. I am a US citizen currently residing in Canada with my husband. I am a currently not working. I have recently filed a petition for my husband's US greencard. He is working in Canadian PR holder and is working full time. My question is regarding form I-864. Since I do not have any source of income, I am wondering what are our options in showing enough funds for his sponsorship. Can we show our joint assets (cash in joint saving acct etc) ? But our accounts are in Canada. Does it have to be in the US? We do have joint account in US and we cound transfer it there. In that case does it have to be in the US account for some period of time? Is 3 months enough? Sorry for asking so many questions. I am really confused.
pontevecchio Posted January 14, 2013 Report Posted January 14, 2013 Joint assets is fine. Also I-864A
canada_gal Posted January 16, 2013 Author Report Posted January 16, 2013 Thank you so much pontevecchio for your reply! Do you know if the joint saving acct needs to be in the US or a Canadian joint account will do as well? Thanks again..
