rommy Posted January 7, 2013 Report Share Posted January 7, 2013 Hello, I am working in IT field and my employer has started my PWD for GC filling.My lawyer has sent a draft of Job requirement where He has mentioned required qualification for the job is Masters in mechanical, becuase of my masters in mech. But I wanted to know, What is the safe way to handle this ? Is it okay to mention only Masters in engineering rather than Masters in mechanical for IT job profiel ? thank you Link to comment

catx Posted January 8, 2013 Report Share Posted January 8, 2013 If you are working in the "IT field", then why would your employer's job description require a Masters degree in mechanical engineering? A job description / requirements cannot be specific to an employee (education and experience) and must be relevant to the job duties. Unless you are working as a mechanical engineer with a mechanical engineering company (in which case your Master degree would be applicable), what you posted will most likely be caught and result in a denial.
