Hello,

Good Morning!

I came to USA on F1 visa (Fall 2007) for pursuing MS in Computer Science.

I graduated in Dec 2009 since than I'm on H1b visa status.

Since 2007 I haven't visited my home country (India).

Because of latest H1b stamping issue in India I'm planning to do stamping in Vancouver, CA.

Last month I received TRV for Canada successfully.

Can you guys please help with the H1b stamping check list specially for Vancouver, CA?

Also, I want to book interview date, can you please help me the website to book for H1b stamping interview date?

Apart from my above two requests I would also like to know if somebody has list of questions to be prepare in advance?

Much appreciated your help

Thanks in advance

Regards,

Kumar

1) Below is what might be an exhaustive list I found online. Please use your judgement

2) The link to book appointment is http://usvisa-info.com/en-CA/selfservice/ss_country_welcome

List:

<p>Group 1 – Interview Related

  • Original interview appointment letter
  • DS160 Confirmation Barcode printout
  • DS160 Application
  • Passports (New and Old)
  • Passport Photograph - Even thought you upload the digital photo when you create the DS160 they can still reject the photo. They also rejected the extra copy i took from Fedex. They said it has some shadow in the back. Good think is they have a photo machine inside the consulate. For $10 you will get 8 Photos. Take some $ 10 (Canadian) change with you if you need to take photo.
  • Visa fee receipt

Group 2 – Current Employment Related

  • Original Notice of Action I-797
  • Employment Verification letter
  • H1B application packet that includes:
    • Original I-129B
    • I-129H form
    • H-1B data Collection form
    • Labor Condition Application LCA
    • Company offer letter
    • Latest Resume

Group 3 – Previous Employment Related

  • Letters verifying your employment history and specific work skills
  • Copies of all the previous Notice of Action (I-797)
  • Copies of all the previous I-129B, I-129H, H1b data collection and LCA's
  • Offer Letters

Group 4 – Education Related

  • Original degree certificates along with mark sheets / transcripts
  • Relevant diplomas or certificates, e.g. computer certification
  • I-20 (if you have US education)
  • OPT – EAD card (F1 related)
  • Professional membership cards

File 5 – Financials

  • 2011 Pay Slips
  • Old pay slips if available
  • previous tax returns - I took for the last 7 years
  • Previous W2’s - I took for the last 7 years
  • Monthly bank statements – at least 6 months
  • Utility bills
  • House deed - if you own property in US
  • Mortgage statements if you own proprety in US

Group 6 – Family Information

  • Original Marriage Certificate
  • Original Birth certificate (for each child)
  • Spouse Passport
  • Child Passport
  • I also took a copy of my wife's H1B application that was filed. We could not go together for stamping as her H1B was not yet approved. Also, her company was letting her work based on the fact that USCIS did not mention in the I-485 denail notice that her EAD is also canceled. I guess it depends on the immigration attorney interpretation. Their attorney is one of the biggest immigration law firm's in the SFO area. Her H1B is not approved, she will be going for stamping in Toronto within a month or so.

Group 7 – Green Card related

  • Copy of I-485 motion to reopen application
  • I-485 receipt notices for everyone in your family
  • copy of AC21 filed when changing jobs
  • I-485 denial notice
  • Copies of All EAD’s and AP’s receipt notice and approval notices
  • I-140 receipt and approval notices if available: I took a printout of an email from my previous employer where they said they cannot give me the I-140 receipt number, email confirming I-140 approval and Email stating that they did not revoke I140 and did not received I-140 denial notice. I contacted my previous employer after I received the I-485 denial, they said that they did not revoke the I-140 and did not receive I-140 denial notice. I have applied for G-639 Freedom of Information Act to request a copy of my I-140 denial notice. This could take few months, but I will at least know whey my I-140 was denied. For those of you who don’t have your I-140 receipt numbers, you can file G-639 and get a copy of your I-140 receipt. If I had this, I would have been able to track my I-140 and taken action when it was denied in Oct 2010. Hind site is 20-20.
  • Evidence of extension of legal status in the U.S
  • I-94 cards – Current
