Can I cancel H1B to H4 COS, before H1B approval

Hi,

I was working with company A till November 15th, and applied for COS to H4 on November 15th.

I now have a new job with company B, who will file my H1B transfer on December 7th.

Can I withdraw my H4 application, as soon as I receive the filing receipt? Or do I need to wait for the H1B transfer to be approved before withdrawing the H4 COS application?

Also, do I withdraw by just sending a letter to the USCIS?

Praveen,

Its better to withdraw your H4 application once you have an approval on your H1. Coz in case if your H1 is denied due any reason then you will immeditely go out of status.
