H4 or H1b - Need suggestions

Hi All,

Need some advice.

My finacee is a H1b holder and we are about to get married by 2013 July or August.Our plan was that I will be going to US on H4 visa and later(2 or 3 months) convert my H4 to H1b and start working in USA.

But I am thinking to appraoch some consultancy to file my H1 visa next year(2013 April).

Can you please tell me which option will be better?

1) To wait until we get married and go to USA on H4 and later convert to H1?

or

2)Apply H1b in April 2013

-In case if its apprvoved, can I file a H4 also in August or Sept as I can't go to USA until october with H1B?)

-In case if its declined, what are the chances of me getting the H4 visa?

Please let me know if am not clear.

Stay away from consultancies. This is what you have to do first if you want to have good future in US.

Just make sure that your employer has direct clients if you want to take up consulting jobs.

Sure.I would have mentioned "employer" instead of consultancy :-)

In case if I approach any employer who have direct clients instead of consultancy, Can you please suggest which one of the below will be better ?
