Hi,

Did anyone apply for Temporary resident visa for Canada at Seattle Consulate through mail process.

I would like to know how many days did it take exactly for them to process and send the passport.

I know that the site says approximately 30 days, but would like to get an idea of how many days are they taking, I have a visa appointment in the next week and haven’t received my PP yet, they have received my application on Nov 14 th 2012.

Appreciate any kind of information.

Regards,

RR

chicagoan9,

Did you apply through mail? Please do update us because I need a TRV too and get my h1b stamp as well before the 20th december 2012.

I'm planning either going to DC (which i think there is a walk-in) or New york (Maybe? i read the website said they do not do it, but some forums said people are still applying TRV walk-ins there).

Hope to hear from evreybody!

the rules have changed there are no walkins , its waste of time / money to travel unless u are in the same state , as even NY / LA receive walk in applicants , they state clearly on there website that it will take same time to process for both . pp will be returned only through mail no pickups at consolute

For everybody information:

In terms of TRV for canadian, you can walk-in in New York or LA only. (I also believe half the country have to apply to LA, another half at New York. If you are from LA trying to apply at NY you might get rejected). The walk-in hours are between 8:00 to 9:30/10:30 am.

Best to go as early as possible as the line that starts from the street light pole (facing the first revolving door) and it gets very long. And also, the line is at the 49th street next to the McGraw Company, not in front of chase, not at the 50th street, not downstairs right in front of the consulate door. But outside. If you abide by this rules you will get your turn for sure.

If you submit your application on Friday, you will get it on Monday. If you submit on Monday, you will get it on Thursday because Wednesday is close. The pick-up hours are between 1:00 to 2:30pm.

For those who submit by mail, there are chances you will get it 30+ days later. Even you walk-in to request your passport, you will have to fill in an emergency form and submit that form and wait as well.

for eg (Only valid in Manilla, Phillippines): http://www.canadainternational.gc.ca/philippines/assets/pdfs/emergency-en.pdf

To read more about the hours:

Good luck everyone!

I'm planning to apply for Canada TRV (temporary Resident Visa) I have following questions.

1. What is current processing time if we sent our application to Canada Consulate in LA?

2. I'm thinking of using some representative company to apply for this visa as I need to get this in 30 days. They have promised to get me canada TRV within 2 weeks and they are charging $ 150/-

Do you think it is really worth doing this ??
