Does Client need to be e-verified In EC or EVC model?

Hi,

My friend recently went to stamping in Hyderabad, India. He is in EC model. He got his visa in 3-5 mins. His employer is a big MNC in India. When he told about client, VO checked about the client in e-verify system and asked him the questions related to the client. My frnd told his interview was short because the client is a e-verfied one. So, Is it really necessary for the client to be e-verified? Please give ur opinions. Thanks!
