Changing location when I-485 is pending

Hi there,

Here's my situation:

Location 1: Original PERM (PD1) / I-140 - approved

Location 2: New PERM (PD2) / I-140 / EAD / AP - approved with PD1 as the priority date.

My I-485 has been pending for more than 180 days and I am now considering a job in Location 1 within the same company. Can I move back without refiling PERM / 140 ? The new job is similar in nature to my current job.

You should look into using AC21 to change location - yes, it is possible to use it with the same company.

Thanks Belle! I will look into AC21, but I wonder whether it will even be necessary, considering that I am on H1B? Can I not simply transfer over to another department / location using H1B, without impacting my GC process?
