Mumbai consulate - passport pick up in nov 2012

Visa interview done on 20 Nov 2012.

They said will get the passport in 4-5 days.

Any idea how much time it takes to pick up passport? Which is the location and how do we know when is the passport ready?

Your appointment confirmation document (the one with the bar codes) will indicate the address at which you have to pick up your passport. It is the same as the address you selected when setting up the appointment. The longest it takes is 7 days. You should get an email or SMS saying when your passport is ready for pick up - I asked them as I was leaving the Mumbai consulate. I have one question though, did you get any kind of receipt indicating that you gave the consulate your passport and which you can use to pick it up?

No I did not get any kinda receipt. Guess we might need to carry some ID proof of ours while going there to collect the passport.

Can anyone tell me what does the status "Current status of your passport is Origination Scan". Also, pls let me know what would be next statuses I will see till it's ready for pick up.Thanks in advance !!!

While I was searching for my answers I got back my passport today.[Yes stamped with Visa :-)]

Just a refresh, my visa interview at Mumbai consulate was on Nov 20, 2012 and got back my passport on Nov 27, 2012.
