carpediem24 Posted November 15, 2012 Report Posted November 15, 2012 I have a question for people who may have knowledge about the new process for Visa interview. I am waiting for favorable dates to open up at the Chennai consulate in December for my H1b interview and wife's H4. I know the fingerprinting appointment has to be taken 24 hrs before the visa interview. But I get to choose the date only after I choose the visa interview. Does it strictly have to be 24 hrs before? What I mean is, I'd like an early morning visa appointment. Something like 8AM. Does that mean a Fingerprinting appointment on the previous day but at, say, 10AM wont work coz its just 22 hrs? Or is it theoretically the previous day that matters? This is only because I am on a time crunch and have to return to my town as soon as possible on the same day as the interview. and I wont be able to get to Chennai until 2 nights before. So technically, I reach there tonight. I have my visa interview the day after tomorrow at 8AM. That leaves me just tomorrow for the fingerprinting. Is it oka if I take the earliest appointment tomorrow for finger printing and still make it to the visa interview, the day after???? Or do I have to schedule my visa interview later in the day to accommodate enough time for fingerprints verification???
cooldude76 Posted November 16, 2012 Report Posted November 16, 2012 Don't think so that should be a problem. First you have to select the interview date and then it asks for the finger print appointment.
luck2u Posted November 16, 2012 Report Posted November 16, 2012 OFC (Finger print & Photograph) & Visa interview appointment cannot be on same day. There is nothing like the gap should be 24 hrs for those two appointments. For example, you can have OFC appointment on Nov 20, 2012 @ 4:30 pm and visa interview appointment on Nov 21, 2012 @ 7:30 am.
