Thank you Murthy. Thank you everyone who shared their experiences and guided us. God bless you all.

This is my humble request to aspirants that please try Canada.. Montreal is awesome place for stamping. Everyone in consulate is so down to earth and helpful (when consulate came to know that I am in Canada for stamping only , he asked me collect the passport in 2 days from consulate instead of wait for Loomis .. understanding people :) ). Whatever cases I know of stamping in Montreal of same day as mine were all successful.

Me and my fiancee attended visa, our questions:

Case 1: EC modal

1) Greetings.

2) So you live in Canada?

- No sir, I am here on visitor visa. I live in USA

3) Oh you live in USA (verified the address on my I-129)

4) So this is your H1-B extension visa.

5) What company you work for? What do they do?

6) What are your job responsibilities?

7) What university you graduated from?

8) What was your degree?

9) Asked copy of LCA, I-129, Employment letter.

10) Visa approved.

Case 2 : FTE

1) Where do you work?

2) What type of company is it?

3) What do you do?

4) How long at your company?

5) Duration?

6) Your past employer?

7) What duration?

8) How long you have been in US?

9) What did you in US from your start of stay in US ?

10) How much is your annual salary?

11) W2 and Tax return and she verified?

12) Recent Pay stub?

13) Do you have your family in US?

Be confident and to the point.

Give only those documents which have been asked and only 1 document (Ex: 1 of 10 paystubs) unless they ask all.

Congrats ArjuJAD.

I too went for visa stamping to Montreal on Nov 9th and the questions VO (Visa Officer) asked were very basic and I don't even have to open my folder for any extra documents. He said he approved my visa and kept my I797 along with the passport too with him. At the end he gave me a white pickup form and asked to return back on wednesday to pick my passport at consulate itself. I was wondering why he had asked me to come back to the consulate instead of asking me to pick the passport at loomis location and also why he would have had to keep my original i797. Did they keep your I797 too? I was little worried and tensed as I read few forums where they say that they got emails saying there visa approvals had to go through administrative processing even after VO said there Visa got approved.

Pradeepv,

Do not worry. That is a normal process. They are keeping everybody's I-797A so that when they stamp with employer name and duration of visa nothing should go wrong. If you got a white paper saying collect your passport from consulate on x date and time , you are all set.

SA-05,

If you provide me your email address I will forward you the links that I have of nearby affordable hotels. Yes it is colder than USA. But if you are fully packed should not be a problem. I traveled through public transportation through out and was very convinced.
