Hi,

just wanted to share my visa eperience at Hyd consulate..I am working as a contractor (EVC) model..I was on OPT till september, converted to H1b from Oct2012..went to stamping on Oct23..

On the day before my interview , I went to VFS office for my OFC appointment..

at OFC appointment they asked my passport and DS160 conformation form..they noticed that the name on passport and the name on DS160 did not match (passport has my full name where as in DS160 I wrote only my first and last name..didnt include my middle name since all my H1 docs ,I797, I94 does not have my middle name in it..they told me to submit a new new DS160 form with my complete name in it and bring it back to them with in 1 hr , then they can schedule my OFC appointment.. I rushed to an internet centre nearby , filled a new DS160 form, Luckly there was an Photo studio next to the internet centre..got a new Photo on softcopy since I need to upload my photo to complete the application..submitted the application , went back to the VFS office with new DS160 conformation number..(the DS160 conformation number changes since I submitted as a new application) ..they allowed me inside as I told them that I am returning back after submitting a new DS160 since there was a typo error on my Name in the old application.. They made a note in my profile stating new DS160 has been submitted since old DS160 has typo error in name..I told them that my employer has updated PIMS using my old DS160 conformation number..He told me not to worry , as he is going to transfer all that info to the new application..then they took my fingerprints ..He told me to carry the new DS160 conformation to the Visa interview..

on the day of my interview, when my token was called , I proceeded towards the interview window..while I was walking towards the window, Interviewer is looking at the computer , guess he is reviewing my file ..I gave my passport, DS160 conformation, I797 to the interviewer..here is the conversation..

Interviewer: Hi..Who is your client..

me: I explained the name of the client and type of company it is..

Interviewer: Give me your lasty year W2 forms..

me: gave him my last year W2 forms..He looked at the forms..

Interviewer: has your salary got increased from last year ..

Me: Yes..my salary has been Hiked after performance review and more over I worked only for 8 months last year..(he returned my W2 form..)

Interviewer:which college and course did you do your master's:

me: I told him the name of the college and course..

Interviewer: your Visa has been Aproved..you ll get ur passport by mail..

Me: thanks..

my interview was less then 2minutes..and the interview went smoothly and didnt ask anything about my job or employer..there were little Hiccups during my OFC appointment but the employees at hyderabad VFS office are very helpful and professional..

Hi Venkat, Congrats..

Can you tell me about the question "which college and course did you do your master's:" Are you working in the same field you graduated.

In my case I did my MS in Electrical background doing an IT job..

Can some one guide me in answering that question for my case.

I did my Masters in biology field and working in IT..
