RamyaG Posted November 3, 2012 Report Posted November 3, 2012 Hello, I went for H1b stamping at Delhi Consulate in the 1st week of October. The VO kept my original I797, passport and copy of other supporting documents. It's been almost 20 working days and I have not heard a single word back from the Consulate yet. When I call the helpline they say my docs are with Consulate and they have no other update on it. When I try to send email at passportstatus@..... to track my passport it says "please put a valid passport # or UID #". In any case I'm not able to track my passport and see what is happening with my visa!! I'm very worried as to what is happening? Why is it taking so long? Has anybody else also experienced such long wait times? without any communication from the other end.
quest2010 Posted November 3, 2012 Report Posted November 3, 2012 Did the VO give you any other document or slip ? What did he tell you while keeping your documents? Do you remember?

user513 Posted November 3, 2012 Report Posted November 3, 2012 Now a days even in Canada it is talking more time to get your Visa stamped. And as you know in India it takes more time to get you visa application processed and get your visa stamped. So don't worry and enjoy your vacation in India.
