For people going for stamping with two valid I-797

Hi All,

Here is my Experience:

1. Initial H1B Dec2008 to Sep2011. Did stamping in Chennai.

2. Sep2011 to Dec2012. Got H1B extension, not left US (no stamping).

3. Applied for next extension under premium in Oct2012 and got it for 1 year starting from Jan2013 to Dec2013.

Went for stamping to Ottawa on 23Oct using new I-797 which starts from 01Jan2013.

Got visa starting (issued for the period) from 23Oct2012 to 31Dec2013.

Conclusion: We need to use latest I-797 to attend interview.

Hi Praveen,

Thanks for the information.I am also having the same problem.

Entered US on F1 student visa.

First H1 start date is oct 2011 and end date is Jan 14th 2013.(No stamping)

I got my new H1 extension from jan 15 2013 to dec 31st 2013.

Can you please suggest me if i can go for stamping in the first week of december holding my new I-797 form.

Note: This will be my first H1 stamping.
