venkatg Posted November 1, 2012 Report Posted November 1, 2012 Hi Everyone, First a fall i would like to thank Murthy Forum, for providing such a great platform to get H1B visa stamped. This helped me a lot in my today's visa appointment. I would like to share my experience. MY work pattern is EVC model. My Visa appointment was at 10:00'o clock in Vancouver, CA. Once after completed the initial security check, i was asked to provide the passport, I-797 and DS-160 confirmation. She checked at the photo graph that was printed on the DS-160, and said ok with the photo.(I saw her asking some people to retake photo, because of different reasons like missing white background, not clear, etc). If the photograph that was submitted on DS-160 was not ok, then she might ask you to take photo from a booth next to the counter. Once this process is done, i was given a number. After couple of minutes a lady from the counter called my number and asked to go to the 20th floor. After reaching the 20th floor, i was asked for my ten finger print in counter #3. After the process of this finger printing is done, she asked me to take a seat and wait for my number to be called. The VO at the counter#6 (American Guy - Probably mid 35-40, with Glasses) called my number. These are the list of questions, i was asked by the VO. How is Your Petitioner? Did u do ur Masters? What's your major from? What is your area of specialization in your masters? Who is your end client? Asked for my Pay stubs, Bank Statements, W-2 for year 2011 Asked for the Client Letter? Who paid for your petition? how long you been working with the client and with the employer? Asked when did i started working with this employer? the answer for the earlier question was: I worked with another employer, and specified his name and i clearly mentioned that i worked for them in my OPT(which satisfied the VO for that question). What do u do for the client? He next asked what exactly you do in the project and what's the project is for? Once after all these questions, he started typing in his machine for quite some time. Once he is done with the typing, he again asked to show my Client letter. He looked at the whole client letter and observed who signed the client letter. Then came the golden words from his mouth( after nerve breaking tension) "YOUR VISA GOT APPROVED AND YOU WILL RECEIVE IT THROUGH LOOMIS IN THE NEXT 3-5 BUSINESS DAYS" Once after listening to that golden words, i said thanks to VO and left the place. Then realized that, the VO took even my Passport and I-797. Guys is that a common scenario ok taking both passport and i-797 by the VO? And do they return these 2 documents when we go for pickup? Please let me know if anyone of you been in this situation earlier.
