Question on Experience letter for I-140 application

Hi

My PERM application has been recently applied and I am currently trying to get experience letters from my previous employers..Can you please provide your input on the below questions around the expeience letters:

"I currently got a Black & White Scanned Copy of experience letter from my previous employer who is in India currently and am having issues getting the original from him. Can you please let me know if this scanned copy will suffice the requirement for I-140 or if it is mandatory to have the original during submission? The scanned copy is also on the company letter head and this employer was also my previous employer in USA but has shifted to India recently.."
