Number of days to receive passport after H1B stamping in Mumbai

Hey guys,

I wanted to know how many days it takes to receive passport after the stamping is approved for H1B visa.I wanted to schedule my date and book my flight from US to India based on that

My wife got her H4 visa after 2 business days after her interview at Mumbai consulate last week. The VO told her it will take 3-4 business days to get the passport back.

Can we still collect the passport on the same day of the interview from the consulate ?? I remember we could collect it previously but I am not sure as per the new procedure.

As I got information from my Lawyer they told me that if it is pick up from consulate place it may take the same day or the next day but if you want to deliver your passport to you nearest locations it might take 5 - 7 days.
