krish8119 Posted October 29, 2012 Report Posted October 29, 2012 Hi all.. Can anyone tell me how to handle these questions? When my OPT was over, i took admission in other univ and worked on CPT before filing my H1. Will that be an issue? Is that considered as gap? Why Canada, that too Vancouver and not India? Why this time? How to answer them? Thanks, Krish.
rahul412 Posted October 30, 2012 Report Posted October 30, 2012 When my OPT was over, i took admission in other univ and worked on CPT before filing my H1. Wait a minute. So you took admission in other school just to work in CPT from day one??If yes, how many days??
rahul412 Posted October 30, 2012 Report Posted October 30, 2012 6months Dude, I don't know how the things work in this case. But you have joined a school just to work instead of going to school. You have breached the F1 rules and most probably this may lead you into problems. It's better to contact any immigration attorney before attending the interview.
JoeF Posted October 30, 2012 Report Posted October 30, 2012 My guess is that this was with one of the fraudulent diploma mills... That will be an issue. You essentially abused the F1 and CPT. Such abuse is always coming back to bite.

There are some people still believe that, if they join a school for second master's program they can work in CPT from day one since they have already had a degree in that field.

These people must have lived under a rock for the last couple of years... Really, the TVU case got so much attention in India, up to the government. And people still think it is ok to abuse CPT?
