Labor approval Previous employer -Priority Date

Hi Friends please share your thoughts on the below

I have my Labor Approval from my previous company in EB2with a Priority date of Aug 2010, the compnay was struggling for survival that time ,so I changed my employer. I have asked him to continue the process under Future employement, I am not sure if he did it or not.He is saying he filed for it and still pending but not providing me with any information. Is there any way we can find out the status of the previous petition, I have the Labor approval document sent by him.

Now my current employer is filing for my Labor in EB2 and my priorirty date will be Oct 2012.

I want to see if I can use the prioritty date of my previous filing.After my 140 approves with my current employer.

Please advise.

Your PD is preserved only if you had an approved I-140, having only the PERM approved does not preserve your PD.
