H1B Extension with passport validity for about 9 months

Hello guys,

My current H1B visa has expired, but extension has been granted until Jul 2015. I plan to go for stamping to Chennai in Nov. and get my passport extended in India after the visa stamping is done on my current passport. I read that the passport validity should be minimum 6 months from the time of the appointment.

- Will it cause any issues with the new visa stamping if the passport is only valid for another 9 months, I hope they will stamp the visa validity until the validity of the petition.

- If I get my passport extended after the visa stamping, i hope that the i94 validity would also last until jul 2015.

The visa will be stamped till petition expiry. You would need to carry both passports when you come back with the visa.
