H1b transfer while h1b extension application in progress

Hi all,

I need a clarification regarding the h1b transfer.

I got only 6 months h1b visa and my petition was approved for one year. I work on Employer-> Client model.

Visa expires on October end 2012. My current employer filed the h1b extension on July end.Its not yet approved.

My current client plans to hire me for a permanent position and willing to do a h1b transfer.

Is it possible and safe to do a h1b transfer now as the visa is valid only till October end?
