Hi all,

I applied for a TRV at Canadian Consulate, Detroit on the 4th of June by mail. They received it on the 6th. Since I didn't hear anything back from them, on the 9th of July I send an email to the consulate. Following is the reply from the consulate.

Sir/madam,

We do not respond to enquiries regarding an application in process in our office while it is within the Normal Processing Time for that type of application.

We are currently experiencing a delay in processing applications for a Temporary Resident Visa beyond our posted 30 day service standard.

I am exactly in the same boat. My TRV documents were also received by the Detroit consulate in first week of June but I have not heard back from them since then. I have even traveled to Canada in 2010 on a TRV visa for tourism purpose. So, I thought it must be easier to get TRV second time but doesn't seem so.

Please keep us posted once you hear back from them.

Guys,

I posted my documents in last week of June for Canada visa and Detroit consulate guys received on June 28th. I forgot to send my I-94 and posted xerox copy on next day and they received on July 3rd. Do you think they will attach my I-94 with my previous documents ? Or they going to send me a query for I-94 ? Does anybody came across this situation?

Visa sridarr94,

Do we have to send I-94? I just send I-797 because the check list said I-797. Our office gives I-94 detached from the I-797. I have my old I-94 stuck on to my passport which I got when I first entered the US on J1. No.s on all of them are the same.

Saxena,

Even i am not sure about I-94, But one member in this forum told me he got query from consulate about I-94 and that is the reason i posted my document next day. But you said valid point that I-94 is attached at end of I-797. May be they will consider that I-94 hopefully

Hi Saxena638,

I am also in the same boat. I applied for Canadian Transit Visa on June 11th. I posted all the required documents to Detroit through USPS (express mail) on June 11th and documents were reached on June 12th. I even got an email displaying the signature and the person who has received the package (from USPS tracking). But till now, I haven't received my Canadian Visiting Visa. The worst part is that I don't have my passport with me even if I want to go inperson interview to NYC consulate. Its been more than a month now and I have my visa stamping time slot approaching very near. I tried calling the Detroit consulate but couldn't get any help. I didn't email them. So, can you please help me regarding how you have approached them and how you have emailed them because when I tried to email them by accessing the link given in this post it is directing me to the Nothwestern university outlook.
