Travelling on h4 when h1b petition is approved

Hi,

I just want to know whether I can travel to US on h4 when my h1b petition is approved. And after entering to US, can I re-capture my H1b which is valid till 2013. Also, could you please let me know how this re-capture works. Will really appreciate if anyone could help me with this.

Nope you can not recapture. If you enter in US based on H4 then you can no work unless you've to file H4 to H1 COS again.

Yes, you can do this. Enter in USA on H4. Later on, your employer will file H1b with COS for rest of 6 years.
