Anyone going to Ottawa for visa interview on 13th August,2012

Hi I made my H1-B visa stamping appointment at Ottawa, Canada on the 13th of August, 2012 and wanted to find out if anyone has made any arrangements for Visa interview during that period.

Kindly help me as i am planning on going to ottawa for h1b and I already got stamped once in ottawa in 2006.

Where did you guys get the visiting visa for canada?

Was it in person or by mail and how much time it took for you?

I got canada visa at NY consulate. Some one dropped the application in person for me. Dropped monday, picked up wednesday.

I am going from Dallas to Ottawa, thinking about driving. This will be my route that I will probably drive, let me know if anyone is interested in joining along the way.

Process:

.. Showed up 20min early,

.. they let me in at appointment time.

.. All items taken out and security check finished

.. Cell phone they kept and gave me a token to retrieve later

.. Wallet, sunglasses, pens etc are allowed

.. Cashier asked passport, DS160 confirmation

.. Asked if it is direct employer -- yes.

.. Gave me token, pledge information to read and then rights page asked me to wait in the waiting area

.. 20minutes later Lady called and took my finger prints

... 40minutes later called for interview

... Have you had H1b before --- yes, but never had to stamp

... What did you do before --- Attended univ in x town and then working now in y town while living there

... what do you do? ----- so and so

... whats your degree in ? ---- such and such

... couple of minutes later --- your visa is approved, there is your 797 and the instructions to get your passport. 4-5 business days, may be by end of week but can't guarantee. Good luck!
