H1 ext. approved but didnt back date my out of status period

Hi,

I was out of status since last 7months and immediately after realizing...filed my h1 ext. under premium with nunc pro tunc explaining my case. uscis approved my h1 ext from july'12 until oct'13 without back dating my out of status period bcos I was out of status for more than 6months...but I have seen many cases in this forum where ppl are out of status for more than 6 months and got approval when filed under NPT.

Effects can be...if I go out of the country and come back, I can be barred for 3yrs.

Can some one tell me what are the options I have now? and if they dont correct my out of status period, will it cause any problem during my 485?(140 is already aprvd). Thanks in advance!

Talk to your Lawyer. They usually do not backdate and the fact that a new I94 is issued makes you legal.
