No Pims but visa provisionally approved, and then an email 221g

I am in this situation

Am in EVC model with extension done in May 2010

Appeared for Visa Stamping on July 3rd 2012

Saw the lady on the first counter writing no PIMS on the appointment folder

My token number was called i went for the interview

2 questions were asked

1) How much duration with the company

Ans 4+ years

2) what is your title

Said XXX

The lady said your visa is provisionally approved but due to PIM verification not done will take a little more than a week

On 07/09/2012 i received an email from TRTFCP asking for more documents and issuing a 221g

Does any body know how much time this kind of 221g takes there is no color on the form and its plain white

The documents asked are standard.

Meanwhile one of the two of my friends who were also provisionally approved on July 3rd in Toronto with PIMS ok (They are FTE) one got an email to pick passport from LOOMIS

Other is in civil engineering job, hasnt received any email till now.

Hi,

I am in the same boat. I attended my visa interview on July 5th in nueveo Laredo consulate. Visa office asked me only client letter and he said my visa is approved. He also said, my petition is not available in the system. He asked me check with consulate same day at 4 PM for passport. When I called them at 4 PM, my passport was not ready, they asked me to contact again next day morning. Next morning also my passport was not ready, they asked me to contact evening 4 PM same day.

While I was waiting , in the afternoon, they called me to my hotel room just before 4 PM, asked me to come with all my documents. They tool all my w2, pay stubs, client letter and employer letter. They scanned all my document, they returned my passport saying that they are waiting for some information, they will call me on Monday morning.

They contacted my employer and client with list of question on Monday. I think they answered those clearly. Monday after around 2 PM, I called them for the update, they said my case is still in pending. In next one hour received the call from consulate asking to come again with all my document.

This time, they started asking about my previous employer. My h1 was filed in 2006 when I was in India, got my approval in 2007 June, got first visa stamping in India in Aug 2007. Came to US in December 2008. From the day one started working with client XXX, then I change my employer in 2009 Aug, continuing with same client XXX. Now working with same client and same employer As soon as I changed my employer I got the stamping in India in 2009 September. Now I came here for extension.

Monday evening, they asked me , with your previous employer in H1 location says YYYY, but you worked for client with location ZZZ, do they an amendment for that. I answered them, I am not sure about that. They asked me to contact my previous employer and check with them. I checked with them, they don't have amendment but they have LCA filed for new location. I did send the LCA to the visa officer yesterday(Monday) evening and waiting for reply.

Does any got into the similar situation before. The Amendment they are asking is from my previous employer. My current petition is with different employer. To approve my current petition, is my previous employer amendment is related any way?

Please can you let me know, is your visa got approved or not? I am planning for visa stamping in laredo, so need to know more details about the consulate and visa processing at that consulate.
